Dr. Paul J. Chappano
Dr. Paul J. Chappano earned both his undergraduate degree and medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Residency in General Surgery and as Chief Surgical Resident at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Chappano also served eight years with the United States Military at Naval Hospital Jacksonville and at Camp Pendleton in California.
A Board Certified General Surgeon, Dr. Chappano is an active member of the American Cancer Society’s Duval Unit and his favorite part of being a general surgeon is the gratefulness his patient’s express for helping them fulfill their optimal health. A father of six, Dr. Chappano enjoys spending his non-working hours boating, going to see live music, watching his kid’s sporting events and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Dr. Isaac Motamarry
Dr. Isaac Motamarry completed his surgical training at Cleveland Clinic before completing an advanced fellowship in Bariatrics and Foregut surgery at University of Florida. A Board Certified General Surgeon, he has been practicing with North Florida Surgeons since 2014. His practice includes General Surgery with a special interest in Bariatrics, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Endocrine surgery.
Dr. Isaac Motamarry completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Mary Washington while enlisted as active duty in the US Navy. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. A father of two, Dr. Motamarry spends his free time trying to keep up with his young children and their many activities. He enjoys traveling, sporting events, and many outdoor activities.
Dr. Miroslav Uchal
Dr. Miroslav Uchal was born in Bratislava, Slovakia-native with almost three decades experience in the medical field. A graduate of P.J. Safarik University of Kosice, Dr. Uchal completed his initial Residency at District Hospital in St. Lubovna where he introduced laparoscopy for the entire area before moving to the United States. Dr. Uchal continued his education at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh where he completed his Residency in General Surgery.
A Board Certified General Surgeon, Dr. Uchal completed three fellowships – General Surgery at St. Vincenz Krankenhaus in Germany, Surgical Research at HF Teaching Hospital in Norway, and Bariatric Surgery in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to joining North Florida Surgeons in Jacksonville, FL he served as attending surgeon, Chair of Department of Surgery, and Director of Laparoscopic Education. Currently Dr. Uchal (ju-khal) is a Medical Director for Bariatric Surgery for all St. Vincent’s campuses in Jacksonville area. He is a fellow of American Association of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and fellow of the prestigious American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Uchal has been named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence Surgeon by the Surgical Review Corporation and by American College of Surgeons.
His surgical expertise has been seek by morbidly obese patients from Alaska to Florida where Dr. Miro (abbreviated Miroslav, mi:rrrro) performed thousands of primary and revisional surgical weight loss procedures. He created team of experienced medical professionals in the operating room, surgical nursing floor and in the surgical office to achieve the best results and continuation of care that every patient deserves.
Dr. Uchal has been trained and performs placement of the intra-gastric balloon – ORBERA™ managed weight loss system (www.orbera.com).
In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr. Uchal also treats gallbladder disease, hiatal and ventral hernias, benign and malignant diseases of stomach, colon and small intestine, as well as other diseases.
